We're off the air.

Here's the long and short of it.

We're in the way!

We've long been a thorn in the State's side by doing what it has claimed can't be done. Namely, operating Public Radio without Government support.

We have also been vocal about our belief that the State is unlawfully competing with the private sector and in violation of the U.S. Constitution as well.

Government funded KBBI-AM in Homer wants to build a new FM station and KWJG was in the way. We believe the Alaska Public Broadcast Commission asked the Federal Communications Commission to find reasons to issue the Notice of Violation. This Notice will ultimately result in a substantial fine putting us out of business.

Some our volunteer Board of Directors had been paying a portion of the station expenses out of their own private pockets. Their way of giving something back to Alaska for having had a good life here. Since those same volunteers are now going to be on the hook for the fines they have decided to stop paying expenses that the station.

We appreciate all of our listeners and supporters. The last 14 years would not have been possible without you.

Thank You.
